Accessibility at The Cleveland Hotel
The Cleveland occupies two Victorian townhouses on Cleveland Square. The building is period, and that shapes what we can and cannot offer — this page sets out the position honestly so you can decide before you book rather than discover it on arrival.
If anything here affects your stay, please contact us before booking on 020 7535 0860 or reservations@thecleveland-hotel.com. Reception is staffed 24 hours and we will do our best to match you to a room that suits you.
Lifts and stairs
- The lift serves the ground, first and second floors only.
- Rooms above the second floor are reached by a narrow staircase, with no lift alternative.
- Some rooms are on the lower ground floor, also reached by stairs.
Rooms
Room grade and floor are not linked here — the same grade of room may be on the lower ground floor or at the top of the house — so the floor a room sits on cannot be selected when booking.
Tell us what you need before you arrive and we will allocate accordingly wherever availability allows. A request made at the time of booking is far easier to honour than one made at check-in.
Getting into the building
[Confirm with the hotel: steps at the main entrance, and whether a step-free route exists]
Bathrooms
Every room has a private bathroom. None is adapted — there are no grab rails, level-access showers or other accessible fittings. The hotel previously had one adapted room; it is no longer available (confirmed by the hotel, July 2026).
Assistance dogs
Pets are not accepted at the hotel. Assistance dogs are not pets and are welcome. [Confirm with the hotel so this is stated as their own policy]
Help while you are here
- Reception is staffed 24 hours a day, in several languages.
- The team can help with luggage at any hour — please ask rather than carry it up the stairs.
Telling us we have this wrong
